I had a great opportunity back in the mid-1980’s to shoot some sports photography.
This was all film based, and rather expensive for a college student.
I shot mostly in color, using my Canon AE-1, with an autowinder. I’m working on
scanning the old 35mm film and slides, this will take some time, and will post
to this gallery as I get them done.

Roosevelt Chapman (1980-84) is the University of Dayton Flyers basketball all time leading scorer with 2,233 points; this shot was taken using Kodak CR 1000 35mm film (1/500 @ F3.5, 80mm focal lenght) in the UD area under mercury-vapor lighting.
This shot was used for the cover of "The Dayton Flyers" by Ritter Collett (without credit, see "Book Cover" link above), and was taken at NCAA West Regional on March 26, 1984 at UCLA Pauley Pavilion
Ed Young against Yale (Dec 29, 1983) with an easy slam. This shot was used for the February 5th, 1986 program cover against the Irish, see "Program Cover" link above.
Anthony Grant (1983-87), is now the head coach of the UD Flyers. This shot was taken with Kodak Ektachrome 100 slide film, a real challenge to expose and color balance.
